Farm Assurance

The Alliance Group Farm Assurance Programme was designed to ensure that our suppliers consistently meet high food safety and animal welfare standards in their farming practices.

The programme focuses on:

  • Animal welfare
  • Food safety
  • Management recording systems
  • Animal status declaration forms, which must accompany livestock sent for processing

It’s JAS-ANZ/ISO 17065 certified by a third party assessment body to maintain integrity – because we know our success depends on strong systems and safety, all the way from farm gate to plate.

Food safety

Alliance Group produce safe, wholesome food free from genetic modification that’s nutritious, tasty and consistently good to eat.

Food safety forms the core of our company policy independent of industry regulations, and our co-operative status enables us to adopt a "farm to plate" strategy for food safety.

This begins on-farm with the Alliance Group Farm Assurance Programme, and is continued at our processing sites through our Continuous Improvement Programme.

These programmes include:

  • ISO 9001 certification
  • Full HACCP programme
  • On-site laboratory testing
  • Skilled quality assurance staff
  • Extensive training of staff in food safety principles and practice

All Alliance Group plants are approved by both USDA and EU regulatory authorities, and comply with stringent market access requirements.

Risk Management Plans for each processing plant are registered with the NZ Food Safety Authority under the provisions of the Animal Products Act.
