Update on Lorneville plant processing

Update on Lorneville plant processing

The significant rainfall since last Thursday has given us confidence that we are now through the worst of the dry conditions, which have been impacting our Lorneville Plant, both in terms of unusually high processing demand from farmers and the plant’s ability to manage treated wastewater.

Up to 77.5 mm rain has been recorded in the Hokonui Hills over the past five days and more is forecast over the coming days.

Processing at Lorneville is continuing as normal and the plant will remain operating at full capacity.

We have no plans or expectation we will be stopping processing.

We have devised a contingency plan that would mean we can keep the plant open if we had a sustained period without rain and do so without a huge financial impost.

With more rain on the horizon, the outlook is looking more favourable.
