Plant Health & Safety Manager, Smithfield Plant - Timaru

Our Smithfield Plant in Timaru has an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional who will play a key leadership role in Smithfield's plant performance improvement programme through providing expert health & safety advice and support. Leading a significant improvement in health & safety performance on the large complex manufacturing site is a key objective. As a member of the Plant's Management Team you will assist the Plant Manager in developing a performance focused culture. You will also work with the Group Manager Health and Safety to deliver the company-wide health & safety strategy. Specific responsibilities for this role include ensuring that company health & safety strategies and systems are fully communicated and implemented throughout the Plant and to drive continuous improvement and best practice in health & safety. Providing expert health & safety advice and coaching to the Plant Management Team are core involvements. Other responsibilities include health and safety planning and management, accident investigation and reporting, risk management and injury management. Livestock Cattle Representative - Southland

This position reports to the Livestock Area Manager and the primary task is growing, developing and maintaining the relationship between our shareholder/suppliers and the co-operative, specialising in cattle procurement. In this role, you will primarily be working on your own. As part of the wider livestock team, you will provide forecasting and interpretation of technical data for shareholder/suppliers and the co-operative. The successful applicant will be a great relationship manager, enjoy growing businesses and have a passion for the cattle industry You will also be a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and keen to advance yourself. You have a moderate level of fitness as the role can at times be physically demanding.
