Graduate Programme

Ko wai mātou - About Us

Congratulations! Finishing a tertiary qualification is an amazing achievement that you should take enormous pride in.

At Alliance Group, we are all about pride. Pride in our history, pride in our co-operative, and pride in our people. Over 73 years, we have grown and transformed from a freezing works company to a leading food and solutions company working across multiple markets and sectors. Our roots connect us to a rich history, while we continue to build the future.

Our people are our future. We are committed to investing in them, developing individuals and teams, and supporting a high-performance culture so that we remain an employer of choice, and continue to deliver value to our farmer shareholders. As New Zealand’s only 100% farmer owned red meat cooperative, we are looking for New Zealand’s best and brightest graduates. If you want to be part of an organisation and industry that really matters - to our farmers, our global customers, the rural communities we support, and to our people – Alliance could be the place for you.

Te Tūranga - The Role

Are you ready to be one of our 2023 Graduate Programme participants? From January 2023, we will welcome four new graduates into the cooperative, to participate in an exciting two year programme that will see you work in various functions, locations and roles across our business.  Starting in our Plant and Livestock operations, you will have the opportunity to work alongside people who will introduce you to internal and external relationship management across our farmer shareholder base, rural communities and plants.  The second year is focused on corporate and support functions, including domestic and global sales, as well as 6 months in one or two rotations of your choice.

The ultimate goal of the Alliance Graduate Programme is to build a pipeline of talented individuals with leadership potential to meet the future capability needs of the co-operative. Working across the business will give you strong networks, visibility of different functions and opportunities, and an overview of the industry and markets, helping you to decide where you will build your career within the co-operative.

Ō pūkenga - About You

You will be as passionate as us about connecting New Zealand’s rural communities to the world!

As a high achieving recent graduate, you will challenge us by bringing a fresh approach to the ‘way we work’, be interested, and able to build rapport with people across the business – from our essential plant-based teams to senior leaders and board directors. You will be fully mobile and willing to go where the opportunity takes you.

Most importantly though, you want to ‘own’ your career path. We’ll provide the opportunity – it’s up to you to seize it!

Ngā painga - what’s in it for you?

Alliance Group is a great place to work, for people who want to make a difference to the agricultural sector. We are a business and employer that is committed to making a difference for families and communities and supporting people to build rewarding careers in the red meat sector. Strong organisational culture and values are essential to creating that environment. For this role, we also offer:
